Reactive Hypoglycemia is a condition where is a low blood sugar level. Signs of this may include , but are not limited to, anxiety, trembling, heart palpitations, sweating, dilated pupils and headaches. Numerous symptoms may occur or become more extreme after eating. It is imperative that you consult a doctor if these sign are present to eliminate more severe complications. However, there are many natural methods to eliminate effects and manage the ailment.

A healthy diet is essential in treating reactive hypoglycemia. Excluding sugar from the diet, or greatly reducing it proves to have positive results. Unfortunately this includes candy, cookies, pastries and other types of sweets commonly eaten in addition to certain fruits and vegetables. You should also be sure to limit the amount of alcohol and caffeine you drink. Instead select foods that are high in complex carbohydrates and high in fiber. It is also a good idea to eat regularly at the same time every. Make sure you don’t skip meals or delay meals unnecessarily. Also remember, foods with artificial sweeteners will also be damaging, and reducing the amount of this type of food will greatly benefit the situation. Make sure you are also reading the labels on food products to stay away from hidden ingredients.

Eating nutritional supplements is another way to alleviate symptoms of the disease. Supplements that have been proven to be excellent dietary supplements for reactive hypoglycemia are: chromium, fish oil and magnesium. Chromium is highly recommended as a diet supplement. In addition to these, selenium and N-acetyl cysteine are recommended.

You should cultivate an active lifestyle. Being active and exercising is an invaluable health benefit. It is not only a good way to keep the body healthy and reduce possible effects of hypoglycemia, it also is a relaxation technique. Do not overdo it, however. Exercise at an appropriate level several times a week, utilizing aerobic fitness such as walking, using a treadmill or bicycling.
